Hello, my name is Ann-Kathrin and I’m a documentary wedding photographer.

I am from Germany and now lucky enough to be able to share my time between there and England – Hamburg and Birmingham, to be precise. And being German I do like to be precise.

I love travelling and the opportunity to photograph weddings in both countries is the perfect balance for me. The only downside is that only one airline offers a direct connection between Hamburg and Birmingham and it is very much a budget airline. So if you live somewhere else and are looking for a wedding photographer, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I’d love the chance to not pay extra for my bag and eat real airline food again!

I never wanted to be a photographer when I was young. I never inherited a classic camera from my grandfather, never spent hours developing gloomy photographs of spider's webs for school projects, and never ever saved up all my pocket money for film. Instead I tried to be a professional ballet dancer for the majority of my teenage years and then, when an injury stopped me from twirling around any longer, proceeded to edit films for the last ten years, specialising in advertising and music videos.

Being able to view, evaluate and use the work of the world’s best cinematographers on a daily basis has really honed my visual skills. When I expanded from moving pictures into still photography I was able to use that same expertise.

I focus on the visual impact, detail and storytelling in every frame.
