Nathalie and Christopher’s story starts a little differently. Over a year ago I received an email from Christopher: “This is from Christopher rather than from the two of us for one simple reason – I haven’t yet proposed to Nathalie. I have however booked the church!” That’s confidence right there. Apparently Nathalie had already laid out the conditions for a wedding which included a date (to do with the Cornish weather), the church (where Nathalie grew up) and – lucky for me – the photographer. And then Nathalie actually said yes a few months later and so we all met on a late May weekend in Cornwall.
Sadly the Cornish weather did not agree with our plan and decided to be incredibly grey and wet. Which also meant that the marquee on the cliff overlooking St Agnes and the sea overlooked a grey expanse of nothingness. But really nothing could have damped the fun and excitement surrounding these two. And I love a blustery clifftop with salty wind whipping my hair about. With Nathalie having grown up in St Agnes she didn’t mind, Christopher didn’t mind and so we scrambled around the coastal path anyway, some of us with bare feet. I loved every minute I got to spend with these two and their fantastic families. So much laughter and so much love. It’s everything a wedding day should be.
Nathalie and Christopher – thank you so much for sharing this day with us. I’ve left a little piece of my heart in St Agnes and may just have to come back on a sunny day to check out the view.
