So, I am a documentary wedding photographer. But what does that even mean?
It’s simple, really. I concentrate on doing what I do best; I wait for real moments as they happen. And then I photograph them. I truly believe in finding magic in the unexpected, unearthing humour in everyday situations and capturing the real emotions that unfold when no one else is looking.
Photography is all about preserving fleeting moments, the need to hold on to them before they can disappear. A warm summer night, an ice cream melting in the sun or the day you got married to the love of your life. You want to remember more than just how it looked - you also want to remember how it felt because our memories are some of the most precious things we have.
I have had a long term love affair with analogue film photography and especially with my Hasselblad medium format film camera. The look of film is so unique and full of soul that nothing can replace it - but for wedding couples it means making a choice. Digital or film? My solution is to offer both. And while we’re at it I’ll even throw in some Polaroids.
Prices start at £1500.
