LIFESTYLE PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

There are no ordinary moments. From the way that quiet smile reaches your eyes when you look up at him, the way he puts his arm around you and squeezes to let you know he’s there to the laughter that bubbles up in your child every time you pull that face – these are the seconds of every day that move us. That connect us. These are the moments worth remembering.

PLANNING YOUR SHOOT

All of my portrait sessions are shot on film so having enough (and ideally the most beautiful!) light is the important thing. This means I’ll be taking your photos on location and not in a studio. As with my wedding photography, the key thing for me is to capture your real personalities so I aim to make the entire process as relaxed as possible. I see it as less of a formal portrait session and more of an adventure.

I usually suggest planning an activity that you have wanted to do for a while but maybe haven’t gotten around to. It can be anything from kite flying to crab fishing. This way you get to enjoy a great day out having fun while I come along with my camera to capture you.

To get the very best results, I aim to shoot in the hours before sunset or right after dawn when the light is soft and golden. And yes, getting up early is not everybody’s cup of tea but I promise you it will be worth it. Whether you want to go for a hike in the mountains or visit the favourite corner of your city at sunrise, have a look at the featured selection of portrait sessions below.
