There were tears and laughter, sunshine and golden leaves. And in the middle of it all two amazing people, very much in love. more

Lami and Jim planned to have a small wedding on a cool September Thursday in London. What they ended up with was a beautiful celebration of them with all their friends and families on a hot and sunny day more

I have a soft spot for complicated love stories. And I have a very soft spot for complicated love stories that involve long distances, endless Skype conversations that are still never long enough, countless emails and flights going back and forth over oceans, with heartbeats accelerating as an island in the North Atlantic comes into view through a little airplane window. Especially when those love stories end well, like when a girl and a boy end up getting married on a hot sunny day in Hampshire.

Jeanine and Joe met when Jeanine went on a trip to Europe. She needed a place to sleep whilst being in London and Joe had a couch that was free and in London so he welcomed this Canadian girl from Montreal to stay at his flat for a few days. And nights. Jeanine tells this story a whole lot better over on her blog. If you want to know how it went on from there and how they eventually ended up getting married not only once in Lake Placid but then again in East Dean you want to have a look at these posts.

For everyone else suffice it to say that if there were ever two people who so very much belong together it’s Jeanine and Joe. Warmth and love and happiness radiates from them like a thousand intergalactic suns. I have no idea where that came from but I’m sure a thousand intergalactic suns radiate quite a lot. With a magical garden and months worth of work put into transforming a little barn at Joe’s fathers house into a perfect place to share this with all their friends and families their wedding was a truly fantastic event. I sometimes get asked where the most amazing wedding was I’ve been to. Or what to do to make sure a wedding is fantastic? And all I can say about that is it doesn’t matter where you are or what you have, it’s all down to who you are. And who you are with. And that was never more true than at Jeanine and Joe’s wedding. I felt incredibly lucky to be there and when I got back to my wonderful B&B at night (no, really. If you are in the area stay there, it’s heavenly!) I wasn’t quite sure if I had dreamt it all.

Thank you both so much! I wish you all the happiness in the world, now and forever. If you feel like getting married again next year I say go for it! :)
