I first met Adam six years ago. The day he introduced Lizzie to me came later, but it’s definitely marked down as a day where we all fell a little bit in love with her. You just cannot help it. That girl’s laughter makes everything feel slightly brighter. Lizzie and Adam went for a late summer wedding at Elmore Court with some beautiful September sunshine to match the smiles on everyone’s faces. Sometimes it can be hard to be working at your friend’s wedding. But sometimes it’s pretty special to be asked to do this for someone you care for, and this was one of those times.
I could tell you all about the flowers and the dress and what meat from the BBQ tasted best (it was definitely the fish), but Lizzie did a much better job of that over on Rock My Wedding. Instead I’d rather tell you that the music that was played and the laughter you could hear felt like a soundtrack to a perfect late summer’s day. Hints of melancholy for the warm nights that feel like a soft blanket around your bare shoulders mixed with pure joy of feeling warm rays of sunshine on your face. Those are the things I remember about this day. Along with Lizzie and Adam, and a certain look in their eyes. The smell of flowers and the colours of the English countryside, the sparkling of stars once the sun had set and the dancing late, late into the night.
A big thank you to the ever wonderful Kate for being my wingman on this day.
