Frauke & Jörg, A Wedding in Hamburg

There has to be nothing better than a wedding organised by two producers. Frauke and Jörg both work as producers at film production companies and it really was no big surprise that nothing was left unplanned and the whole day went as smoothly as any wedding day possibly could. Plus they got married on Friday, leaving us lots of time on Saturday to take portraits in the glorious October sunshine before heading off to what has to be my favourite place in Hamburg – Cafè Paris. Which was great for me since this meant we had some time to include a few Hasselblad portraits in there as well.

From Frauke’s shoes by Michael Kors, Jörg’s fastest preparation of a groom I’ve ever seen (“I’m sorry for the state of the room, it’s got a little Kennedy on the night before the election feel to it!”), the sweet Citroen DS that seemed to include a bottle of champagne through to a delicious 4 course meal, a whole load of friends who couldn’t stop cheering for the couple and then stormed the dancefloor as soon as possible – I think it’s fair to say that this was one wonderful wedding. Who knew Hamburg could feel this French!

Frauke’s attention to detail was astounding. Despite having spent the last few weeks manically trying to get everything ready in time as well as juggling her usual stressful days at work she was cheerfulness personified on Saturday morning. I’m sure Jörg was nervous enough for both of them but when he finally got to see her in her dress all was well. They are a solid union and it never ceased to amaze me how comfortable with each other and well, together they were. They were all smiles and happiness and touching hands through the entire day.

Anyway! Instead of boring you with more words here are some pictures for you to look at:

Fantastic, really. Half of them look like movie stills which is an enormous compliment.

Seriously?!! Just stop. You are amazing. Every single one of these shots should be hanging in a gallery somewhere. Your eye and attention to the moment is absolutely brilliant. And the way you capture light?! sheesh. I’m speechless.
